Pasadena Daytimers, our SnB group, celebrated our 1 year anniversary yesterday, and we had a smashing good time. We lunched on glorious fare at Macaroni Grill in Monrovia, sipped our ice tea and libations, sampled delicious desserts, and knitted up a frolicking good time! I'm hoping I can get a copy of our group picture from one of the other knitsters to insert here, but until then, we'll have to settle for individual and small group pictures.

Flashback to 2005 when Marie W, Joan and I met for the first time at a tiny Starbucks in Arcadia. We met via the Los Angeles SnB message board. At the time, my friend, skeptical about meeting people via the internet, asked if these people were reliable, and I told her that knitters are some of the nicest people you will ever meet! It turned out to be true. Fast forward to today where our regular group membership hovers at 15 to 20, and we all have the very best time together every Wednesday at Zephyr Coffee House in Pasadena.Joan made us the most wonderful goodie bags, filled to the brim with wondrous gifts, including her own handpainted votive candles and handmade stitchmarkers. Generous beyond compare!
To celebrate our knittiness, we did a knitalong for the La La Scarf by Kat Coyle from Greetings from the Knit Cafe. After dessert, we readied our mohair and lace weight yarn, size 10 needles (Bryspun, as preferred by some), stitch markers (thanks to Joan!) and patterns, and knitted away. We called it our La Lalong and had a great time of it.

Since the Pasadena Daytimers have formed, we have had 2 yarn crawls and shared life's ups and downs together. I truly enjoy the camaraderie, friendship, and laughter with this diverse group of women. The knitting education I have learned from them along the way ain't nothing to sneeze at either! Enjoy the pictures! Happy Anniversary, knit-sisters!

P.S. If you ever go to the Macaroni Grill in Monrovia, be sure to say "Hi!" to Tyce, the bartender and our server. He took the best care of us, and understood our need for food, drink and yarn, not necessarily in that order. Be sure to tell him the knitters sent you!
